In both my professional life and my volunteer service, I have been privileged to apply my expertise to an expanding range of worthy causes. Though I continue to welcome and cherish opportunities to support animal welfare, I have also been engaged by arts and cultural organizations, public health collaboratives, and more.
Amy Winkleblack, MPA
Founder and Principal, Wink Consulting

A seasoned fundraising professional with a background in public service, I spent six years in local government and ten in the nonprofit sector before establishing Wink Consulting in late 2020. I accepted my first animal welfare job in 2002, while obtaining my BA from the University of California at Santa Cruz; my tenure at Santa Cruz County Animal Services ignited a professional passion I pursued for 18 years. With the goal of contributing to animal lifesaving at the highest level, I acquired a Master’s of Public Administration from San Jose State University in 2011, shortly after joining the nationally recognized team at Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV).
More about Amy
During my 10 years at HSSV I received three promotions, closing my chapter there as a Senior Director of Development. In that role, I managed teams responsible for major gifts, planned gifts, endowment, special events, monthly giving, peer-to-peer fundraising, corporate sponsorship, mission film creation, and select digital fundraising campaigns. These broad-ranging responsibilities involved close collaboration with a top-notch in-house marketing team and an external direct marketing firm, giving me a strong foundation in nonprofit branding, communication, and metrics.
In both my professional life and through my volunteer service on the Board of Directors of Happy Hollow Foundation, I have been privileged to be able to apply my expertise to an expanding range of worthy causes. Though I continue to welcome and cherish opportunities to support animal welfare, I have also been engaged by arts organizations, public health collaboratives, and more. The bottom line for me is a deep personal and professional commitment to work that values, supports, and uplifts underserved and marginalized members of our community. I look forward to learning about your passion and how we might partner to further the critical mission work of your organization.
Mutual gratitude. Client feedback …
Our relationship with Amy has been very positive. We hope to continue working with her as much as possible. In updating our website, she gave us the ability to accept donations online for the first time. She wrote a grant that secured us $400K to support public health efforts in Modesto, and she has collaborated well with our team. We have great confidence in her abilities.

Amy navigates the relationship between our municipal organization and its supportive foundation with ease. The incredible driver of our capital campaign passed away suddenly shortly after we completed one of two campaign phases. We engaged Amy to provide strategic leadership and direction to our foundation board through this difficult circumstance and are already experiencing the benefits of her expertise in both fundraising and animal welfare. Especially in light of my own transition to a new organization, we’re grateful we’ll have Amy’s support throughout the remainder of this campaign which will result in a new building and critically expanded community programs.

I’ve worked with Amy Winkleblack for many years when we were both in leadership roles with Humane Society Silicon Valley and have found her to be the consummate Development and Fundraising Professional. She is currently providing coaching and consulting to our feline rescue- focused non-profit board and is implementing the infrastructure for fundraising and donor relations as well as assisting with next-level strategic planning. We’ve made significant progress in the time that she’s been helping us!
